Coherent Inc. has introduced a new high-power addition to its AVIA laser product line: the AVIA-355-28. The new tool delivers output power levels to 28 W at the short ultraviolet wavelength of 355 nm.
The AVIA series of turnkey, pulsed, solid-state lasers have been employed within cell and panel manufacturing steps for both crystalline-silicon and thin-film solar production lines, Coherent says.

) won the grudging support of the last two unions
on Monday, ending tortuous labour talks that at one point
appeared to doom Italy's national airline to liquidation.
Hold-out unions SDL and AVIA representing cabin crew and
ground staff followed the example of other unions who changed
their minds and agreed to back a deal with Italian consortium
